About this episode
After weeks of therapy, Christopher remembers his fifth birthday—and the night his grandmother sat beside his bed and told him something he would spend years trying to forget. He had asked for a story that wasn’t too scary. She told him about a girl who followed a boy into a secluded barn, the terrible thing waiting there, and a grandmother who knew what to do afterward. Christopher was too young to understand every detail. He understood enough to wish she would stop. But the hardest part to explain is the secret birthday present she left beside his bed. She said the story had a happy ending. Why, then, was he so afraid?
